SPEAKERS

Richard L. Wobbekind, University of Colorado, Boulder

Richard Wobbekind is Executive Director of the Business Research Division and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the University of Colorado Boulder. He joined the faculty at the Leeds School of Business in 1985, and has served as Associate Dean since 2000.

As Executive Director of the Business Research Division his responsibilities include developing an annual consensus forecast of the Colorado economy and performing various economic impact assessments of the Colorado economy. Wobbekind also produces the quarterly Leeds Business Confidence Index for Colorado.

Brian Lewandowski, University of Colorado, Boulder

Brian Lewandowski is the Executive Director of the Business Research Division at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder. Brian provides regional business and economic information and education, including economic and revenue forecasts, policy studies, economic impact analyses, and data workshops.

Brian has 13 years’ experience conducting economic studies at CU Boulder. Prior to CU, he worked in both the private sector and government. He is past-president of the Denver Association of Business Economists.

Shawn Osthoff, Bank of Colorado

Shawn Osthoff is the president of Bank of Colorado and is responsible for overseeing more than $4 billion in assets held by the bank across its 45 branches.

Osthoff is a native of Colorado, and attended the University of Northern Colorado, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance in 1990. He went on to earn an MBA with an emphasis in finance from Colorado State University in 1991. Osthoff has extensive experience in banking, including lending, loan operations, commercial and agricultural loan portfolio management and corporate management.

Brandon Wells, The Group / Group Financial Partners

Brandon Wells has served as the President of employee-owned Group, Inc. Real Estate since January 2018. He was brought to Northern Colorado as The Group’s first chief technology officer in 2014, and was elevated to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in January 2017. In 2019 Brandon also took over as President for Group Financial Partners which controls the ancillary businesses of mortgage, title, and property management.

Wells goal is to ensure real estate will see the benefit of efficiency through technology while not losing its roots as a deeply relationship oriented business.
